Cub Section Information…

The Cub section is the next section up from the Beavers, and is for children aged 8 to 10½ years old.

The Pack is made up of young members who have moved up from the Beaver Colony or those who would have joined Scouting for the first time. This Pack is made up a number of smaller groups called Sixes. Cubs is fun and adventurous and a great place for friendships to be made.

At Cubs, the focus is on fun, socialising and the opportunity to learn skills that the young people would not pick up elsewhere.

We try and keep our Cub program as varied as possible, with the aim of offering something for everyone. This includes a mixture of badge work, games, traditional scouting skills and other activities. Traditional Scouting skills include such things as shelter building, fire lighting and back-woods (open fire) cooking. The following is a selection of some of the other activities we have participated in recent times:

  • Canoeing
  • Visit & Tour of Fire Station
  • Swimming at Crown Pools
  • Visit to Woodbridge Art Club
  • Karate Instructor Visit
  • Owl Keeper Visit (with Owls!)

In addition to our weekly meetings, there are also various (optional) district events that take place over the course of a year, usually at weekends.

You can see our full list of up and coming events on the Cubs calendar page.
