Fellow Suffolk Scouters and Supporters,

As you know, Mark is stepping down as our County Commissioner at this week’s County AGM, after an amazing 2+ years at the helm.

I am therefore delighted to announce that Keith Barber has very kindly agreed to take on the Acting/Interim CC role next week. I’ll confirm when the Compass changes have been made, so if anyone has anything mega-urgent, please contact Mark until I advise you differently.

I am acutely aware that Keith already has some significant responsibilities within the county and beyond. He is currently DCC, and Acting DC in Wolsey district! In the circumstances, it is great that we have such a strong cadre of Deputy CCs, whom I know will support Keith during the CC Search/Appointment process. Equally, in Wolsey we have three excellent Deputy District Commissioners who already support Keith.

Talking of the above process, the CC Search Pack will be distributed in the coming week to all uniformed adults and trustees in Suffolk. It’s important that we all understand the process, role and timeframes, so that you can all consider applying for the CC role, or nominating someone else for consideration… I’ll be in touch about that next week.

So, we shall be thanking Mark and wishing him well at the AGM, as he returns to his local roots in Claydon, whilst welcoming Keith to his new critical role. I look forward to seeing you there!

With my thanks to you all and best wishes,

 Graham
