Dementia Presentation

Dear Parents/Carers,

On Friday 12th February 2016 at 7:30pm Jim Lowe from the Sue Ryder Care will be coming to the scout section to give a presentation to the scouts and leaders about Dementia with a focus on Alzheimer’s, Jim’s visit is to raise the awareness of Dementia to as many people as possible because the more people that know then the greater difference we can make. With that in mind I would like to openly invite any scout, cub and beaver parents/carers to come along because it many not affect many of us right now but may in the future and to know what help and advice there is could be a great comfort to many of us.

If you would like to come then please let your section leader know, so I know what numbers are coming, if you see anyone else within the group then please pass on this open invite.

Many Thanks and Regards

Christopher Warren

A Big Thank You

I would like to thank everyone, adult or child who helped with Scout  Christmas Post. I can tell you all, that the group raised approx £2600.

This is a little down on last year’s total, but this is due to 10,000 less cards being posted through the service.

The Group celebrates its 90th Birthday in June!  We hope to be having some special events to celebrate!

Our executive committee is very much demolished, could you give some time to help within the group?

Are there any dad’s that are carpenters or builders who could help with the re-boarding of the side of the HQ building? Many hands make light work! We need help to keep the outside of the building in good order in line with our Landlord’s Policy.

I look forward to hearing from anyone who can give help in any way, we are all volunteers that run the group
